Countries where Australians were held on Interned

Australians were held as Prisoners of War in a number of Countries throughout the World during the 20th Century and they were also Interned in some Neutral Countries for the duration of that War or conflict.

The names that are engraved on the Stone Obelisks show the name of countries where Australians were held. In some cases the names of these countries have changed or the country no longer exists. This may have been bought about by internal or external political changes, War or amalgamation.

These are the names of countries the Trustees are aware that held Australian Prisoners of War. The names of Countries Engraved on the Stone Obelisks are shown with an asterisk *.
